Marley Class - Year 2 - Miss Mazerolle

Bob Marley - Jamaican singer/song writer

Bob Marley is widely known around the world for releasing music and advocating for social change. Bob was committed to empowering, transforming and 'uplifting' lives. Some of his number one hits were "One Love", "Is this love" and "Three Little Birds". However, he achieved more than just being a legend in the music industry. Bob Marley received a 'Jamaican Order of Merit' in 1981 for his outstanding contribution to Jamaican culture. In 2001, Bob was also given a Hollywood Walk of Fame star that was honoured in his memory.

Bob Marley was chosen for Year 2 because he believed in kindness and spreading this across the world. His background was different to many, yet he spoke words of wisdom around the world and supported many different cultures and beliefs. Even though Bob was different he never gave up and continued doing what he loved whilst spreading joy and showing the world, what 'Reggae' is. His legacy now lives on through his family and the Bob Marley Foundation who support different aspects in Jamaica, particularly in Education, Sports, Culture and Healthcare.

"Me life no important to me, but other people life important. My life only important if me can help plenty of people". Bob Marley.
