Potter Class - Year 3 / Year 4 - Mrs Owen

Beatrix Potter - British Author

Helen Potter, better known as Beatrix Potter, is a beloved and celebrated author, best known for her timeless children’s story The Tale of Peter Rabbit, first published commercially in 1902.

Beatrix Potter's most significant achievements include writing and illustrating numerous classic children's books, beginning with The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which has captivated generations of young readers. Her talents extended beyond literature—she was also a dedicated farmer and conservationist. Through her efforts, she helped preserve large areas of England’s Lake District by purchasing land and later donating it to the National Trust.

Beatrix Potter had a deep love for nature, animals, and—most importantly—reading. I have chosen her as our class inspiration because I believe that a love of reading should be a meaningful part of every child's life. Reading is a vital life skill, and my goal is to inspire and nurture that passion in Potter Class.

"There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you,"
