Our Commitment to Sustainability
Spring Meadow Primary School and Nursery is committed to leading the way toward a sustainable and climate-responsible future. In alignment with government targets to achieve Net Zero by 2030, we are actively engaging with nationally recognised, fully funded initiatives such as Let’s Go Zero and the Climate Ambassadors Scheme. These programmes equip us with the expertise, guidance, and support needed to progress confidently on our journey toward a greener school.
Working Together for Change
Central to this commitment is the collaboration between our designated Eco and Sustainability Lead and our pupil-led Eco Warriors Club. Together, they bring the strengths of both youthful enthusiasm and experienced insight. This partnership ensures that ideas from across generations are valued and transformed into meaningful action—uniting “young and wise” perspectives to create a better future for all.
Our Climate Action Plan
Our Climate Action Plan outlines a balanced approach that includes both small, daily changes and more significant, long-term improvements. Throughout the school, we are implementing practical measures to reduce waste, save energy, and foster sustainable habits. Alongside this, we are designing larger-scale improvements to our school grounds to enhance biodiversity, promote outdoor learning, and create a climate-friendly environment that reflects our commitment to sustainability.
A Whole-School Approach
All initiatives within our Climate Action Plan are fully aligned with our Eco and Sustainability Policy, ensuring a consistent, whole-school approach to environmental stewardship. Through teamwork, education, and community involvement, Spring Meadow is proudly shaping a greener, healthier future—empowering our pupils to become responsible global citizens.
